L&H Turkey wings, as I like to call it, was inspired by my recent trip to Nigeria. Fried turkey wings is a staple meal in many Nigeria households. Eating turkey is not just for the festivities, like thanksgiving and Christmas. Eating turkey can also be very casual, as in a snack or as a pre-meal.
Although this recipe does not call for frying at all, because I want to lean towards being healthier. I will still tell you about the different ways we Nigerians eat turkey (other than in festivities).
Chopped turkey wings, marinated in simple salt and pepper (hot peppers) and deep-fried is usually eaten with a variety of ‘goodies’. Sun-dried tapioca, ice-cold soaked Garri, roasted plantains, coleslaw and bread; to name a few.
When I got back into Florence, the first thing I picked up from my grocery store was turkey wings. I got down to making this lemon and honey wings because I couldn’t stop thinking about the fried turkey and tapioca my mum had made for me whilst I was in Nigeria.
I marinated and roasted the turkey wings. Now I’m sharing the recipe with you. Enjoy. xo
